The much-awaited IPL game between Delhi Capitals and Lucknow Supergiants kicked off in Visakhapatnam yesterday. Vizag has been chosen as a second home by the Delhi Capitals. Interestingly, the LSG team captain Rishab Pant, who was the costliest player of the season, registered an embarrassing duck in his debut this season.
We all knew that Delhi Capitals owned Rishab Pant until the last season. However, Pant entered the mega auction this time, and LSG bid heavily on him. The deal was finally closed for 27 Cr rupees. It was not just the LSG team management that had expectations of Pant’s performance.
But, in the latest match, he came up in two down and struggled from the first ball itself. He played a total of 6 balls and scored none. Finally, he gave away his wicket by playing a poor shot. The fans are highly disappointed to witness Pant’s disastrous start to LSG camp this season.
On the flip side, it is still the first match and he would naturally carry a lot of pressure. Hence, it is too early to arrive at a conclusion on Pant’s performance in the coming days. Meanwhile, the LSG owner Sanjiv seems to have had a chat with Pant seriously after the game. Many netizens are comparing it with the talk he earlier had with KL Rahul last year, which drew a lot of criticism.
People are trolling Pant that he would also be not spared by the team management if LSG continues to lose going further.
