For a long time, now, there have been several complaints about the unrelenting Cricket action across the globe. Just recently, the champions trophy got completed and shortly after that, the IPL started later in March. The trend is very clear, such that there is non-stop cricket all around the year.
In view of the unlimited access to cricket, there’s always the risk of overdrive and the same appears to he happening now in the case of ongoing IPL game between Hyderabad and Kolkata.
This game is being played at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata and it happens to be one of the most historical significant cricketing venues in the country.
However, the concerning thing here is the evident vacant seats in the stadium. There are quite literally hundreds of seats that are vacant in the stadium, and these pictures are now going on social media. It is strange to see such empty pockets inside the stadium.
Such empty seats are usually expected in Lucknow and Gujarat Stadium, considering the massive capacity and the relative young history of these two teams. But in the case of the Eden Gardens Stadium in Kolkata, which is regarded as cultural hub for Cricket, such empty pockets are not expected.
A portion of these seats might fill up as the game goes on with more people coming into the stadium, but nevertheless, it is never a good sign to see empty seats in an iconic Stadium like Eden Gardens.
