In the 23rd match of Indian Premier League, Gujarat Titans won the game against Rajasthan Royals. GT won the game by 58 runs.
Toss:
RR won the toss and decided to bowl first.
First Innings:
RR invited the GT to bat first. The GT batters played aggressively and put a big score on board. Opener Sai Sudarshan scored 82 runs. Jos Butler and Shah Rukh Khan scored 36 runs each. The rest of the batsmen played short cameos, to push the score past 200. In 20 overs, for the loss of 6 wickets, they made 217 runs. Tushar Deshpande and Teekshana took two wickets each. The rest of bowlers did not make any mark.
Second Innings:
During the second innings, everyone thought that RR would chase the total easily but the frequent fall of wickets pushed the team to a failure zone. While Sanju Samson tried by scoring 41 runs, he did not get enough support and he also succumbed to pressure. Hetmyer scored a half century but he was not able to build partnerships. Prasidh krishna took 3 wickets. Siraj, Rashid and Sai Kishore also bowled well. They were able to restrict the team RR.
In a nutshell:
Gujarat Titans played very well in this game. Their batsmen were in super form and so are the bowlers. They need to be consistent for few more games to get to the comfortable position. They scored victories in last three games and they will get to the top position on table. Rajasthan Royals are struggling. They have mixed results in the tournament so far. They should adapt a new strategy and learn how to play under pressure.
Scorecard:
GT: 217/6 (20)
RR:159/10 (20)
