Usually, we see champion teams like Mumbai, Indians, Chennai Super Kings, and Sunrisers at the top of the table during the IPL season. But for a change and more of a shock to fans, these three teams are hanging at the bottom of the table now.
The common point between Chennai, Mumbai and Hyderabad this year is that all three of them have been pathetic and have won just a single game till now. These three teams can now be termed as the three Jathi Ratnalu of IPL now.
Comparatively Mumbai is the better team, considering that they had a couple of games that could have gone either way, and a positive result could have been a complete change of fate for them. But in the case of Chennai and Hyderabad, they have been pathetic on all fronts.
In particular, Chennai has been completely perplexed this season. This team was historically regarded as one of the most consistent teams in the IPL. But the exact opposite is the case this year. They are consistently losing games rather than winning this time.
It appears that Chennai, Mumbai and Hyderabad are fighting amongst themselves about who will take the bottom most position on the table. This is the reason why we can call them the three Jathi Ratnalu of this IPL.
These three teams collectively have 11 IPL trophies amongst themselves – Mumbai 5, Chennai 5, Hyderabad 1. But this is accounting for virtually nothing as they are struggling at the bottom three positions on the table, and it appears that there is no way back from here.
