Trending: KL Rahul’s Cold Handshake With Sanjiv Goenka!

Those who keenly follow the Indian Premier League know how LSG owner Sanjiv Goenka treated their former team captain KL Rahul last year. After LSG lost one of the matches, Sanjiv was seen expressing his anguish and frustration to Rahul on the field, in front of the cameras. It was very humiliating and embarrassing for Rahul. Many say this incident was a reason for Rahul to exit LSG and join DC this year. However, a cold handshake between Rahul and Sanjiv made headlines yesterday.

Rahul slammed a match-winning 57* for DC vs LSG last night. During the handshakes, Goenka also entered the ground to greet Rahul. But he barely looked at Goenka as he shared a hurried handshake with Goenka. The LSG owner was trying to say something to Rahul, but the star batter ignored him and moved ahead. The video of the same is going viral on social media, and many are terming it as a ‘cold handshake.’

Earlier, when Rahul exited LSG and joined DC, in one of the interviews, Sanjiv Goenka said that his best wishes are always there with the cricketer.

“KL Rahul has always been family for me, and he will remain that way. He captained Lucknow for three years and has shown great results during his tenure. He is a very honest person ,and I wish that everything good happens to an honest person like him. He is also very talented, and I wish he would display his talent to the world. I am very sure he will do well. I genuinely wish for his good, no matter what happens,” Goenka said.

On the other hand, KL Rahul never gave an official reason for leaving LSG, but in a recent interview, he said that he wanted to play with more freedom and be part of a dressing room that was more relaxed. As soon as he stated this, many concluded that Rahul was referring to the LSG team and the pressure that the owner brings onto the field.

However, now, Rahul is a part of a relaxed team while LSG’s current captain, Rishab Pant, is facing the heat. Surprisingly, Pant, who is always seen jovial on the ground, was seen frustrated in yesterday’s game against Delhi Capitals. He did not come up in the order and instead came late. At the dugout, he is shown throwing tantrums at Zaheer Khan. He lost his cool after getting dismissed. Even in the field, he showed anger toward his colleagues. Usually, it is not Pant but many think that the pressure that their team owner dropped might have been the reason for Pant behaving in such a manner.

On the other side, KL Rahul became the fastest batter to reach 5000 runs in the Indian Premier League (IPL) yesterday. Rahul reached the elusive milestone in 130 innings and beat the likes of David Warner (135), Virat Kohli (157), AB de Villiers (161) and Shikhar Dhawan (168).
