Sunrisers Hyderabad have officially become the third team to be eliminated from the ongoing season of the IPL, and this result came under unexpected circumstances.
Firstly, Hyderabad was in a very comfortable position to win the game against the Delhi after confining them to a low score of 133 runs. Hyderabad put up one of their best bowling performances this season in the game against Delhi, and looked to be the firm favourites to win the match at the halfway point.
However, this is when things started to go out of hand as unexpected torrential trains hit the stadium hard. Subsequently, the match got halted due to the inclement weather conditions.
The sad part here is that the rains did not subside at any point, and they continued to obstruct the game. In the end, the ground had sulked up too much water and playing here became virtually impossible. So the game was called off in the end.
Another sad thing about this result is that it officially eliminate Hyderabad from the tournament. The Orange brigade has become the third side to be eliminated from the league this year after Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals.
Losing the game and then getting eliminated from the tournament is one thing, but having a small ray of hope of a potential comeback and moreover, having such a tight grip against Delhi and nearly winning it, but still losing on this opportunity due to rain is frustrating. But again, Hyderabad have no one else to blame for this situation as this is a result of their poor performances in the earlier games.
