After a very bad start to the IPL 2025 season Mumbai Indians picked up the momentum as they have won their last six games consecutively. Mumbai was so very dominant in the recent games that they were absolutely thrashing every single team that came their way over the last couple of weeks.
However, this dominant run from the Mumbai Indians came to a grinding halt in the game against Gujarat last night. Mumbai got humbled in their home ground as Gujarat managed to register a close win in the rai affected game.
After Mumbai got confined to just 155 runs in their batting innings, everyone thought it would be an easy chance for Gujarat. However, Mumbai, being one of the most consistent teams put on a solid fight.
At one point, Mumbai was so very assertive on this game as Gujarat Titans needed 15 runs from the last over. However, poor bowling from Deepak Chahar resulted in the defeat of Mumbai Indians.
This defeat came at the worst possible time for Mumbai as they slipped to 4th position and are currently in a position where they have to win both their remaining games if they are to stay afloat in the tournament.
Gujarat, Bengaluru and Punjab are in the top three positions on the table and followed by Mumbai at fourth position.
