The IPL is one of the toughest cricketing leagues in the globe as it marks the coming together of some of the best players in the game across the countries. This is the reason why it is the most followed cricketing league in the global as well.
Coming to the topic now, here is a look at the teams that have qualified the most number of times for the IPL play-offs.
The team that holds the record for the most number of qualifications for the play-offs is obviously Chennai Super Kings, which is known for its incredible consistency. They have qualified for the IPL play-offs 12 times. But sadly, they are having to finish at the bottom of the table this year.
Then we have Mumbai Indians who have qualified for the knockout stages an impressive 11 times. And the positive thing for them, here is that they have ended up attending the five times in this period. Essentially speaking, Mumbai Indians has nearly 50% chance of winning the trophy if they just merely qualify for the play-offs.
Then we have Royal Challengers Bengaluru, who had qualified 10 times themselves. But the problem for them, here is that they did not win a single trophy, despite so many qualifications. This is largely due to the lack of big game awareness and adverse situations.
Incidentally, both Bengaluru and Mumbai have qualified for the knockouts this year and it has to be seen if either of them can take the plunge and go all the way. If Mumbai wins the league, then it will be a new all time record 6th win for the side. And if Bengaluru ends up winning, it will be their first ever IPL trophy in 16 years.
