Mumbai Out Of Race, Ball In RCB’s Court!

The stage was almost miraculously prepared for Mumbai Indians to progress to the next knockout round in the coveted top two positions in the ongoing season of IPL. But sadly for the Mumbai based franchise, they spilled the golden opportunity with the game against Punjab, meaning they can’t qualify for the next qualifier and get two bites at the cherry.

Now that Mumbai has shelled this great opportunity, there’s a lot riding on this vacant spot for other aspirational team Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

As of the current standings, Mumbai is confirmed to the fourth position while Bengaluru is currently in third position. A win against Lucknow today will take Bengaluru to the second position on the table and push down Gujarat.

This is a perfect opportunity for Bengaluru to actually have a good shot at the title by winning against Lucknow and finishing in the second position on the table. This will make them eligible for qualifier 1 and they couldn’t have asked for more.

The ball is firmly in Bengaluru’s court now and it is up to them to make it happen on the big stage. A win against Lucknow will do a world of good for them and their fans are buzzing the social media space with this news now.
