It is already known that the top two positions in the IPL points table is largely desired by every team as the top two teams get to play the Qualifier which lets them have two bites at the cherry for the finale.
Incidentally, Royal Challengers Bengaluru got to realise this dream against Lucknow last night. They pulled off a miracle to qualify for the Qualifier 1 by finishing in second position on the table.
The final group game of the season saw RCB almost miraculously competing a run chase of 227 runs in just 19 overs. This heroic result meant that RCB could complete this run chase just in time so that they could qualify to the Qualifier 1. This is a very good result for the Bengaluru based franchise.
Now that the top two positions have been locked and loaded, Bengaluru will be taking on Punjab on May 29, followed by the game between Mumbai and Gujarat on May 30.
The loser of the game between Bengaluru and Punjab will then take on the winner of the game between Mumbai and Gujarat. This is going to be a very interesting fixture for all the top four teams as things are stating to get serious.
