One of the most unfortunately incident related to Cricket happened earlier in the form of this stampede that happened outside the RCB stadium in Bengaluru. This stamped claimed multiple lives, and the Karnataka government got increasingly infuriated with the same.
In this context, Karnataka chief Minister Siddaramaiah has taken a pretty significant decision as he has reportedly approved supporting project amount into ₹1650 crore. this will go into the construction of a new cricket stadium in the Bommasandra area of Bengaluru.
The intention behind this mega cricket stadium project is to relocate the cricketing facilities from the existing Chinnaswamy Stadium in the heart of the city to the new Stadium in Bommasandra, which is in the outskirts.
The new cricket ground will have a seating capacity of around 80,000 and it’ll be one of the biggest cricket Stadium in all of India. This is much bigger in comparison to the existing Chennai Swami, which has a capacity of less than 40,000.
After the fatal stampede incident at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, which is extremely congested and compact, the Karnataka government has decided to build a new stadium in the outskirts.
With the chief minister approving this project, it should not be too long before construction starts. But nevertheless, it must be a painful experience to move from the iconic Chinnaswamy stadium to the new stadium, whenever that is.
