For the third time in the last 10 days, Hyderabad has witnessed extreme rainfall across the city and issues like waterlogging and extreme traffic congestion troubled the city population. This is due to the fact that the city has observed over hundred millimetres of rainfall on three different occasions in August itself.
The city is absolutely drenched in water and the traffic situation is beyond pathetic to say the least.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy is already on the job as he held a high-level meeting with the GHMC authorities, and also the leading government officials. The primary topic of discussion here was to resolve the waterlogging and drainage systems in the city and deal with it on priority basis.
Revanth Reddy had already initiated the HYDRA emergency warning systems which deliver timely text messages to the public on their phones before extreme rainfall. However, the need to have better drainage and water management facilities is still on the shoulder of the chief minister.
The latest weather reports are suggesting that the next 10 to 15 days are going to be no different as Hyderabad will be witnessing extreme rainfall conditions in this period as well. The forecast is already ringing the alarm bells, and it has to be seen how the city would sustain the same.
