Record Prize Money, But Women’s WC Tickets Hit All Time Low

As we had reported already, the upcoming ICC Women’s World Cup is going to start at the end of this month, and India is one of the hosting nations along with Sri Lanka. Now we have a very interesting update on the pricing model that is being implemented for this tournament.

Reportedly this woman’s World Cup tournament will have record low ticket prices, and this is going to be a crucial factor in bringing the audience to the stadiums.

Reportedly the ticket prices for this women’s World Cup tournament will be starting as little as 100 rupees in all the stadium. This is primarily to bring the fans to the stadium and create a positive atmosphere for the players.

Conventionally speaking women’s cricket does not attract huge crowds, and a part of this could be attributed to the ticket prices. But that is not going to be the case this time as the tickets are going to be sold for as little as hundred rupees.

Another interesting observation is that these will record low ticket prices come on the back of the record prizemoney that was announced for the tournament. The total part for the upcoming women’s World Cup is a whopping Rs 122 crore which is higher than the prize money of 2023 men’s World Cup – 88 crore.
