As November 15 happens to be the final day for the IPL team to finalise their returned players list, all the top teams have been fixating on their final squads. A few teams have already exercised the trade option while several others are in the process of the same.
Now it is the turn of the Sunrisers Hyderabad franchise to complete their first trade agreement ahead of the auction coming up in December.
Sunrisers Hyderabad have reportedly traded Mohammed Shami to Lucknow super Giants, and this happens to be their first trade move this season.
Shami was a brilliant bowler in the 2024 season for Gujarat Titans, which prompted Hyderabad to buy him in 2025. But he was a big disappointment in Hyderabad as his economy was very high, and the wicket taking abilities went down. So it is only a natural that Hyderabad have decided to trade him.
Considering the fact that Hyderabad had spent ₹10 crore on Shami during the 2025 auction, this trade to Lucknow must significantly enhance the purse of Hyderabad. This is a much needed, move, it could be argued.
Meanwhile, there are also reports about some of Hyderabad releasing Heinrich Klaasen. We have to patiently wait and see if this will also turn out to be the case in the near future. But this would be a much more shocking decision, if at all it happens to be true.
