Shubman Gill’s stint as the ODI captain didn’t start very well as he got injured rather quickly into his debut. He has been ruled out from the upcoming ODI series against South Africa as he got injured in the first test match and things have taken an interesting twist even since.
The latest communication from the Indian cricket team is that KL Rahul has been appointed as the stand in captain for the upcoming ODI series against South Africa.
In the absence of gill, a few people expected that the team management would go back to Rohit Sharma as the captain, considering his rich legacy earlier. But this did not happen as the team management threw a surprise by announcing Rahul as the new captain.
The ODI series is going to start on 30 November and several crucial players like Jasprit Bumrah, Axar Patel, Varun Chakravarthi are missing for India. But the presence of Rohit and Virat must be sufficient enough to keep the series interesting.
