Big Day Tomorrow: Will India Save It Or Get Thrashed?

As we had reported earlier, India had been absolutely pathetic in the home test series’ in the recent past. After the humiliating 3-0 whitewash defeat to New Zealand in home conditions, India was expected to do better in the ongoing South African series. 

However, India is putting up another horrifying performance in this test series after having lost the first test match already. While it was expected that India would pick up the momentum for the second test match, they have been absolutely downbeat all over again. 

On the fifth and final day, which will decide the result of this game, India faces a pretty stiff challenge. The scorecard makes for a very painful reading to Indian cricket fans as India lost two wickets already in the final innings. 

Indian needs another 522 runs to win this test match, which is already out of the equation. The only hope now is that India can somehow salvage this situation and bat out the final day at least to get a draw result, which is the best case scenario now. 

And if Indian batsman failed to salvage the day tomorrow, it would be the second consecutive loss in the South African test series and this would reflect poorly on the Gautham Gambhir tenure as Indian coach. 

The scenario now is such that South Africa needs eight wickets to win the test match and on the other hand, India needs to bat the entire 90 overs at least to get a draw with eight wickets in hand.
