Sunrisers Hyderabad have made it a habit to buy players in the auction for exorbitant prices, and they repeated the formula this year as well. The Hyderabadi side acquired English player, Liam Livingston for a massive price of ₹13 crore.
It appears to be that Sunrisers Hyderabad is looking to strengthen their middle order further with the inclusion of Livingston and the massive price paid for him is depicting the same.
Shortly after SRH acquired Livingston, something untoward happened as he was dropped from the England national team for the upcoming T20 World Cup.
It is strange to see a player who was acquired in the IPL for such a massive price getting dropped from the national team ahead of the crucial T20 World Cup. The fact that SRH put so much money into a player who is not even being backed by his national team is a point of concern.
Another possibility here is that this exclusion from the national team could trigger a new fire in Livingston and propel him to perform even better in the IPL to find a place back in the team.
