Will MS Dhoni Be AP’s Brand Ambassador?

If the latest buzz in media circles are to be believed, India’s cricketing legend and former captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni is likely to visit Andhra Pradesh capital city Amaravati on January 9th as part of his two day visit. The reports further suggest that Dhoni is likely to call on Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu for a crucial meeting. 

Sources revealed that the former Chennai Super Kings skipper is in plans to set up an international cricket academy in Amaravati in collaboration with the Andhra Pradesh government to nurture talented and enthusiastic cricketers in the coming years. So, this crucial meeting between Dhoni and Chandrababu could pave way for steps in that direction. 

Besides discussing about cricket academy, both Dhoni and Chandrababu are also likely to talk about the international cricket stadium which is going to be set-up in Amaravati which was already proposed by the NDA led coalition government after coming to power in 2024. 

Media reports further suggest that Chandrababu Naidu is likely to name Dhoni as one of the brand ambassadors for Andhra Pradesh after taking his consent during this high-profile meeting. Dhoni might also visit some of the iconic tourist places around the capital region on this brief tour and the stage government is reportedly making all necessary arrangements. 

Dhoni is one of biggest cricketing superstars in the country with global popularity. He successfully led the team to memorable victories in 2007 T20 and 2011 ODI World Cups. He commands a huge craze in Andhra Pradesh even though he represents CSK.

So, his academy with the support of Chandrababu Naidu’s government will surely make a strong impact in identifying meritorious youngsters who can shine at the national and international level.
