The captain of the Indian T20 team Surya Kumar Yadav has finally returned to form last night as he played splendid knock against New Zealand in the second T20 match of the series.
Surya was unbeatable on his knock of 82 runs from 37 deliveries, and this will certainly go on as one of his finest batting performances till date. He started the innings very slowly as he scored nine runs from nine balls.
But in the next 28 deliveries, surya scored 73 runs, and this will be regarded as acceleration in the middle phase of the innings. He was rather stagnated with the bat while Ishaan Kishan was firing with all cylinders from the batting end. But the good thing is that he could pick up the momentum from Ishaan and come to full form himself.
This will go down as an important ending for Surya Kumar Yadav as this comes right before the start of the T20 World Cup and India desperately needs him in top condition. Another factor here is that a good batting performance will always reflect in the captaincy choices of a player, and we can expect similar things from Surya now.
Surya is already one of the finest players in the Indian T20 team, and he will now be regarded with more prominence after this fighting knock against New Zealand.
