Game Over For This Struggling Indian Player?

There is a lot of competition for every single slot in the Indian T20 team as there are far too many talented players for a limited set of 11 positions. This is the reason why there is pressure on every single player to perform to the fullest extent whenever he steps on the field. 

On that note, we have this one particular player who has been sadly struggling with form and also aggression issues in the Indian top order and he is Sanju Samson.

For many years now, Sanju Samson was regarded as a bright young talent. Even though he was not given adequate number of opportunities in the early stages of his career, he has been a constant feature of the India T20 team in the last couple of years. 

However, Sanju Samson could never fully live up to the expectations that were set on him. He had a brief spell of good batting performances for India, but the consistency has been lacking. This is again on display in the ongoing New Zealand series as he had absolutely no impact with the bat. 

The point to be noted here is that Sanju Samson simply cannot afford to waste any more chances as Tilak Varma would be returning to the team very soon and that will push Samson’s position into jeopardy. On top of that, we have Ishan Kishan, who has been performing brilliantly and is being considered for the opening position. 

As of now, things are looking extremely difficult and bleak for Sanju Samson, as far as the Indian T20 slot goes. We have to patiently wait and see in the next couple of games, whether this would be game over for him or whether he would make a strong comeback to fight for his place.
