T20 World Cup Without India vs Pakistan Match: What’s Next?

The T20 World Cup is going to start in a few days from now, and it needs to be said that the game between India and Pakistan on February 15 is expected to be the big marquee match in the same.

However, something detrimental in connection with this game between India and Pakistan is suffering now and let us have a look into this story.

According to the latest communication from the Pakistan authorities, the Government of Pakistan has granted approval to participate in the T20 World Cup 2026 but not to take field in the match against India on February 15th.

This means Pakistan will participate in the T20 World Cup, but they will not play against India on February 15 as they are boycotting the match.

Now that Pakistan have communicated that they would not be playing against India. It has to be seen what kind of action would be taken by the ICC and also by the BCCI.

The fundamental point that must be noted here is that Pakistan had been expressing solidarity with Bangladesh, who had been removed from the tournament for refusing to play in India. However, Pakistan did not have the option of moving out of the tournament due to the repercussions from the ICC.

So now, the Pakistan government has communicated that they would be participating in the tournament, but will not play against India. But this could be reiterated by the ICC in a hard manner, considering the Media rights and tickets sales that would have been happening already. The Pakistan cricket board is likely to face the consequences for the same.
