As coincidental as it may sound, the last time, India played Pakistan in the World Cup on the occasion of Shivaratri was back in 2003. This game had a superb individualistic performance from Sachin Tendulkar. And now after 23 years, India faced Pakistan again in World Cup on the occasion of Shivaratri and we have another individual Hero.
Going into the story, Sachin Tendulkar was absolutely brilliant with the bat in the 2003 World Cup game against Pakistan, which was played on the occasion of Maha Shivaratri. He almost single-handedly, won the game for India by scoring 98 runs from 76 deliveries.
Now over two decades after this iconic knock of Sachin Tendulkar on Maha Shivaratri, India observed another supreme individualistic performance in the ongoing T20 World Cup. This time it was talented youngster, Ishaan Kishan, who played this brilliant knock.
Ishan Kishan was the point of difference between India and Pakistan as he scored 77 runs from 40 deliveries and made a mark for himself.
It needs to be said that India has found a jackpot in Ishaan as he came into the scene just before the T20 World Cup and is now an integral part of the team and single-handedly the games. If it was not for this talented youngster, India could have faced a significant challenge against Pakistan.
India had a hero in the form of Sachin Tendulkar on Shivaratri back in 2003 and last night a similar scenario appeared as Ishan Kishan played a historic knock.
