Who Will Qualify If Rain Interrupts The India vs West Indies Match?

The ongoing T20 World Cup has entered the crucial phase as virtually every game from here on is a knockout encounter. But for now, the discussion is about India and its chances of qualifying for the semifinals and here we have a comprehensive explanation on how it can be done. 

From the first group, South Africa is already qualified for the semifinals and we have India and West Indies, which are battling for the other semi-final spot.

As things stand, both West Indies and India have two points each and they will be facing each other in the next game. This is essentially a knockout game, and the winner of this match will progress for the play-offs.

In terms of net run rate, West Indies is ahead of India, but this will account for nothing if India actually manages to beat West Indies as they will gain four points then. A simple win for India will be enough for them to go above West Indies on the points table and qualify for the semi-final.

But in case there is a rain affected game and there is no result, or if West Indies get the better of India and defeat them, then West Indies will qualify for the semis.
