India has completed a pretty significant feat in the ongoing T20 World Cup by going from a position of distress to qualifying for the semifinals on the very last day of the super 8 stages.
India faced West Indies in a virtual knockout game and needed to win this in order to progress to the semifinals. In accordance with this, West Indies was also brilliant with the bat as they scored 195 runs in the first innings and set a target of 196 to India.
In response, India could chase down the target comprehensively in the final over, and this was largely thanks to the brilliant innings from Sanju Samson.
For those wondering what follows this for India? It will be the big semi-final clash against England that is going to come up soon. This crucial semi-final game is going to be played at the iconic Mumbai Stadium on March 5.
India have successfully completed the earlier scare and qualified for the semi-final now, but the real challenge will be to beat a top team like England. The winner of this game will be taking on the winner of the game between South Africa and New Zealand.
The tournament finale is going to be held on March 8, and it has to be seen if India would be going all the way this time around.
