Before the start of the T20 World Cup, talented Indian opener Sanju Samson was in absolute disarray. He simply could not get any scores going, and was subsequently dropped from the team for the World Cup.
It had reached a point where Sanju Samson was being tormented by Indian cricket fans who felt he could not contribute to the team at any capacity.
But in a span of a couple of weeks, virtually everything has changed for Sanju Samson as he went from being an unwanted zero to an absolute hero in Indian cricket.
In the earlier game against West Indies, which was a must win encounter for India, Sanju Samson scored a brilliant 97 and is the highest scorer for the team. This showcase has exceptional batting capabilities under pressure and was appreciated by everyone.
And again in the game against England last night, which happened to be the semi-final, Sanju Samson came to the rescue as he scored another brilliant 89 runs. The best thing about both these batting performances is that he maintained a strike rate of over 200.
Hadn’t it been for Sanju Samson, India could have been absolutely struggling in both the games. Sanju from struggling by himself to absolutely saving the whole Indian cricket team on his own. This is the kind of comeback that we generally see in sports films, but Sanju is making it happen in real life for India.
If he can come up with another memorable performance in the final against New Zealand, this Sunday, it would be an absolute masterclass of highest order.
