It is an understood fact that India consumes Cricket like no other country and this is again on display as the game between India and England last night set a new all time record in terms of viewership.
According to the latest communication made by ICC president, Jay Shah on social media, the semi final game between India and England recorded a concurrent membership of 65 million.
Jay Shah wrote “Second semi-final of the ICC T20WorldCup 2026 has shattered the world record for digital viewership. The match between india and England registered a peak digital concurrency of 65.2 million viewers JioHotstar which is the highest for any live event across the world.”
This is a pretty significant number of viewers at any given point in time during the progress of the match. And considering the gravity of the occasion which happens to be the semi-final of the ongoing T20 World Cup, such massive viewership is expected anyway.
Meanwhile, it is expected that a bigger number is likely to be posted in the final game, which is said to be played this Sunday where India will be taking on New Zealand.
