WC Final Pitch Report: Good News Or Bad News?

The stage is set for the final game of the ongoing T20 World Cup with India set to face New Zealand in the all important final match today. In the buildup to the game, there is a lot of discussion happening about the pitch condition.

It has been confirmed that a combination of red and black soil will be used as the final pitch for the game tonight. This would essentially mean that the pitch would stay firm for both innings, and there will be adequate batting support for both teams.

The initial expectation is that this game is going to be a high scoring one, and this would naturally favour the team batting second. This would also mean that the Indian bowling lineup must be on the top of their game against a dangerous New Zealand batting lineup.

India had already scored more than 250 runs twice in the tournament, and they would be naturally comfortable in a batting paradise pitch. But at the same time all the other league stage and semi-final games are different and the tournament finale is different. This is where India will have to be very careful.

On top of that, such batting pitches would require aggressive players like Abhishek Sharma to give the team a positive start and it has to be seen if he can live up to the occasion. Sanju Samson and Surya Kumar Yadav will also be equally important.

More importantly, India has been vulnerable to quality spin bowling in this tournament, and this needs to be rectified in the final against a quality team like New Zealand.

Whatever might be the output, great things are expected from this match, which is going to start at 7PM tonight.
