Indian Wins World Cup: Sanju Hero, Surya Villain?

As we had reported already, India has become the first team in Cricket history to win the T20 World Cup back-to-back. And also, India is the first team to win the T20 World Cup three times. 

Coming to the topic, now, all the discussions on social media are currently about the emphatic victory registered by India and the heroes behind the same.

One of the main backbones of the Indian cricket team in this edition of T20 World Cup is Sanju Samson and he had a remarkable come back. Initially, Sanju Samson was not even a part of the team set up during the opening stages of the World Cup, and this was due to his performances in earlier series’.

But immediately after he got a chance in the place of Rinku Singh, Sanju took it up with open arms. He was magnificent with the bat and the fact that he scored over 280 runs in the last three games is an indication of the same.

There is no doubting the capacity and capability of Surya Kumar Yadav, but his poor performances in the T20 World Cup have made him a temporary villain in the eyes of Indian cricket fans.

However, a player of Surya Kumar Yadav’s caliber cannot be judged by a couple of low scores. Known for his fearless stroke play and match-winning ability, Surya has delivered for India on several big occasions in the past.

While this tournament didn’t go as expected for him with the bat, fans remain hopeful that the dynamic skipper will bounce back strongly in the upcoming series and silence critics with his trademark attacking innings.
