One of the most consistent teams in the history of IPL, Chennai Super Kings had a rather bad start to 2026 season by losing their first three games. But they have bounced back pretty well with the last couple of games that they have played.
Last night, Chennai Super Kings came up against Kolkata Knight Riders, who have been in pathetic for themselves and could put up a comprehensive performance in the same.
Chennai Super Kings batted first and scored 196 runs in the first innings, and this was always going to be a tough case for Kolkata. The top order performed well for Chennai Super Kings as Sanju Samson, Ayush Mhatre and Dewald Brewis all put up good scores.
But in reaction to this, Kolkata Knight Riders were very bad in the chase as they ended up losing by a margin of 30 runs. None of the Kolkata players showed any intensity, which resulted in them scoring just 160 runs while chasing 196.
This will essentially mean that Chennai Super Kings are jumping up the table with two wins and two games while Kolkata is at the bottom by losing all five games till now.
But nevertheless, Chennai Super Kings is still in eighth position on the points table, and they will need to maintain this momentum in order to go for. The return of MS Dhoni must surely work well in its favour now and it’s bound to happen in a few days.
