4 In 4 Losses: Title Favourites Become Clueless!

There is a popular saying in the Indian Premier League, which goes like – It doesn’t matter which team is in good form at the start of the tournament as closing the tournament in good form is all that matters.

This is particularly evident if you look at the case of Punjab Kings, which has been going through a rollercoaster ride this year.

At the start of the season, Punjab was absolutely brilliant, and they had not lost a single game in the first seven matches that they had played. But now they have lost four games consecutively, and are finding themselves in the fourth position. They slipped from number one position on the points table to number four.

The most recent defeat came against Delhi Capitals who miraculously pulled off a run chase of over 200 against Punjab. Delhi handed Punjab their fourth consecutive defeat in the tournament.

At one point, Punjab were one of the title favourites for IPL 2026, and now they are finding themselves in a cruel position as they simply can’t win a game at any cost. This is the kind of upside down journey that can completely ruin a team.

We have to see if captain Shreyas Iyer can lead this struggling Punjab team towards glory as many neutral fans want Punjab to win the tournament this year considering that they hadn’t won the trophy till now.
