The recently concluded IPL season was a mixed bag with a few players performing beyond expectations, while several big names failed to even make an impression.
Some of the big names that failed miserably this year include Rishabh Pant, Hardik Pandya, Ruturaj Gaikwad, and others. Now some of them are likely to face the consequences for the same.
In what could be considered one of the biggest and most miserably calculated failures, Rishabh Pant is likely to be released by Lucknow supergiants. He was already removed from the captaincy position, and it is reported that he could be leaving the team as well.
It is reported that Delhi Capitals is moving quickly to gain Rishabh Pant back from Lucknow for a fee of Rs 15 crore. Rishabh went from being the costliest player in the history of IPL at ₹27 crore to one of the big failures in the history of the league.
Along with that, there are reports that Hardik Pandya, who had one of the worst switch backs in IPL history as he went from Gujarat to Mumbai is likely to be released too. Reportedly Rajasthan is contemplating the idea of bringing him to their team.
Mumbai, which is known to have some of the best scouting facilities in the league is eyeing Yashasvi Jaiswal, it seems. He had been in the good books of Mumbai for many years, and it could be a matter of time before his switches to this team.
There are many reports regarding the IPL trade season that is coming up, but we have to see how many of this will actually turn out to be true.
