Biggest Failure Deals In IPL History Exposed?

IPL is the most followed cricket tournament in the world by a comfortable margin and it manages to stay in the news even after the completion of the league. The news regarding players trade, and possible exclusions manage to grab the attention all year round.

On that note, we have the case of two of the most discussed transactions in IPL in the recent past and these involve Rishabh Pant and Hardik Pandya.

Rishabh Pant was bought by Lucknow for the costliest bid in IPL history as he was valued at more than ₹27 crore. However, the kind of results that followed were absolutely pathetic as Lucknow did not just end up at the bottom of the table, but Pant himself turned out to be a failure even as a player.

All the comments that were made about Pant being one of the prospective captains of the league and having a long future with Lucknow, got evaporated in a span of one season. He is now returning to Delhi capital.

On the other hand, we have Hardik Pandya, who switched from Gujarat to Mumbai in 2024 with high expectations and a humongous offscreen deal. However, his performance has been absolutely pathetic as a player and as a captain of Mumbai went from being a champion team to a bottom dweller.

There is every chance that Hardik could be removed from the Mumbai team, and he will have to be on the hunt for a new team before the start of IPL 2027.

It turns out that these IPL transactions did not end up the way there were expected to. What kind of repercussion that are being felt so very evident that place are having to search for new teams due to their horrible lack of performances.
