Indian T20 captain Shreyas Iyer has finally completed his first series victory as the captain of the team. He was able to lead India in the ongoing T20 series against Zimbabwe to a comfortable victory in the T20 series.
This result came at the most needed time for Shreyas Iyer, who was struggling badly due to the earlier losses to Ireland and a complete white wash against England.
There was a mountain of pressure on here to deliver as the captain of the team, and he has finally achieved the same with this victory against Zimbabwe. This might not be sufficient enough to project him as a successful captain, but it is certainly a start that Shreyas Iyer can build on.
Iyer himself had been performing very well as a player, but considering that he is the new captain of the team, more responsibility will be on him to lead the entire team in synchrony.
In a polar opposite Surya Kumar Yadav was struggling as a player, but he was able to lead India historically in many successful games. This is the kind of luck that needs to favour Shreyas Iyer now, and he would be badly hoping for the same.
The next T20 series for India will be coming in October where India will be facing West Indies in home conditions, and this will be the next challenge to Shreyas Iyer.
