Viral Pic: Bruised Boxer Satish Kumar

While the whole of India is celebrating PV Sindhu’s bronze medal at the Tokyo Olympics, here is a boxer who gave everything despite severe injuries and lost. He is boxer Satish Kumar and in the pre-quarter-finals, Satish sustained multiple stitches on his forehead and chin.

But Satish did not give up and went to the quarter finals with bruises yet luck did not work out in his favour. Satish lost to Uzbekistan’s Bakhodir Jalolov and was eventually out of the Olympics.

Before going to the quarters, Satish received a call from his wife and she asked him not to fight. Satish was reluctant on his suggestion as his two children were watching him on TV.

Nevertheless, Satish’s courageous fight needs to be acknowledged. Here is a picture of Satish’s injuries and this has taken the internet by storm. We can see blood partially flowing above his right eye and then the chin which is intensely cut.

Netizens who have watched this picture were in all hail of Satish Kumar for his undying spirit to win a medal for the country.
