Olympics: Indian Women’s Hockey Team Enters Semi-Final For First Time

Indian Women’s Hockey Team created history at the ongoing Tokyo Olympics. Beating the mighty and three-time Olympic Gold Medal winner Australia, India storms into the semi-finals. This is the first time that the Indian Women’s Hockey Team entered the semi-finals in the history of the Olympics.

Indian team scored their one and only goal in the second quarter of the match. The first quarter ended with 0-0. The Women’s team defended the aggressive attack of Australians and displayed a heroic performance in the rest of two quarters. Especially, the last five minutes kept the viewers on edge of the seat as Australia got a chance of consecutive penalty strokes. However, the team failed to turn them into goals. Indian defense against 7 penalty corners for Australia was outstanding

No one has ever thought that the Indian team would storm into the semi-finals but this is the best moment of Indian Hockey.

On the other hand, the Indian Men’s Hockey Team is also into the semi-finals. Let us hope that both the men’s and women’s teams will bring Gold Medals to our country.
