IPL: 19-Year-Old Lad Plays A Spoilsport For CSK

After a series of one-sided affairs, fans have witnessed an absolutely entertaining match last night between Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals. The latter stunned the three-time champion team by chasing a score of 190, that too with the help of youngsters.

CSK batted first and scored a total of 186/4 in 20 overs. The 24-year-old opener Ruturaj Gaikwad (101) scored his maiden IPL ton and helped his team get a high score on the board. He was helped well by Ravindra Jadeja (32), Faf du Plessis (25), and Moeen Ali (21).

When everyone thought that RR couldn’t chase the total, the men in pink stunned everyone by putting on a sensational chase right from the first over. Openers Yashasvi Jaiswal (50) and Evin Lewis (27) threw their bats all over the ground and made a partnership of 77 runs in just 5.1 overs. Rajasthan scored 81 runs in the powerplay.

Yashasvi made a blistering half-century in just 19 balls. There are six 4s and three 6s in his innings. The 19-year-old lad just played around like a professional against world-class bowlers like Josh Hazlewood and Shardul Thakur.

After Jaiswal, Shivam Dube (64*) and Sanju Samson (28) helped RR to chase the total in just 17.1 overs. In the process, Dube also scored a half-century as well.

Meanwhile, Jaiswal was gifted an autograph on the bat by his idol Mahendra Singh Dhoni after the match. Jaiswal felt proud of this achievement and shared the news in the post-match interview.
