The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and Indian Certificate Secondary Education (ICSE) have decided to cancel the Class 10, 12 Board exams 2020.
The Supreme Court of India heard the plea seeking cancellation of remaining CBSE exams which rescheduled from July 1st to July 15th. The government informed the Supreme Court that it would be better to cancel the exams considering the current scenario in India as the Corona cases on a huge spike. Agreeing with the government’s decision, the Supreme Court however left the option of Class 12 students whether to appear for exams on later dates whenever the situation is normal.
Earlier states like Delhi, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu have conveyed their inability to conduct CBSE exams and finally the matter went to the Supreme Court as parents of students filed a petition seeking cancellation of exams.
Already many states have called off their state board tenth and intermediate exams. Now CBSE and ISCE have followed the same.
