As expected China has hit back at India for banning 59 Chinese apps including the famous TikTok. Chinese Customs were holding back export consignments from India over the last few days and this is officially confirmed by the Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO).
FIEO added that some exporters have reported facing hurdles with their shipments to China which is delaying clearance and adding to the cost of imports. On this FIEO has written to the Union Ministry of Commerce and Industry to intervene in this issue and get it resolved at the earliest.
India and China have been in border dispute at Ladakh and last month Indian Army and Chinese PLA clashed. 20 Indian soldiers have died in this while China did not confirm their causalities. Amidst these tensions, Indian PM Narendra Modi visited Ladakh on Friday and took pot-shots at China indirectly.
On the apps ban, Chinese Foreign ministry added that it would look into the legal aspects of Chinense companies facing hurdles in India.
