Air Bubbles: Flights To India Resume From US, France & Germany

The US recently threatened to take action against India, accusing the ‘unfair practices’ of running exclusive paid flights in Vande Bharat Mission’ that brings back Indians from other countries only on Air India flights.

Weeks after that, India today announced establishing ‘Air Bubbles’ to operates flights between India and other countries like France, the US, and the UK, while the plans are underway to start the same with Germany as well. These Air Bubbles will be at lower fares and more flights.

Air India will be operating flights to France and the US under these air bubbles, while Lufthansa flights will be taking it from Germany.

American carrier United Airlines will be flying 18 flights between the US and India from July 17 to July 31. United Airlines is flying everyday flight between Delhi and Newark, and there is thrice a week flight between SFO and Delhi.

Air France will fly 28 flights between Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, and Paris from July 18 to August 1, as said by India’s Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri. The plans with the UK are also in progress for two-flights in a day between London and Delhi.

These bilateral bubbles will be carrying a possible number of people under defined conditions until the situation is back to normalcy.
