Karan Johar Quits ‘Koffee With Karan’

Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar has announced a big decision to quit the celebrity talk show, Koffee With Karan. So far Karan has hosted six seasons and the first season was aired on television in November 2004 while the last season premiered on Star World in 2018.

Koffee With Karan was more than a talk show because Karan would ask the guests about their personal life which would eventually make it to the headlines the next day. The biggest USP of the show is the rapid fire round and it is something that attracts many eyeballs.

“Koffee With Karan has been a part of my life, and yours, for 6 seasons now. I would like to think we have made an impact and even found our place in pop culture history. And so, it is with a heavy heart that I announce that Koffee With Karan will not be returning,” read the note posted by Karan on social media.

The show also turned controversial with Karan interviewing cricketers Hardika Pandya and KL Rahul. This interview raked up a huge uproar and the BCCI had initiated disciplinary action against both the cricketers.

Besides this, controversial queen Kangana Ranaut made it to Koffee with Karan in season five and she blasted Karan in the very show for being biased and encouraging nepotism in Bollywood.

On the work front Karan is directing ‘Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani’ starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in the lead roles.
