Amid the coronavirus scare, the tech giant Google announced that its employees can work from home until next summer, at least till July 2021. Earlier, Google made it clear that most of the company’s employees would be working remotely until the end of 2020, while some employees may be allowed to offices little sooner.
The pandemic has gone out of control and the largest tech companies are preparing for a long time plan of keeping the employees safe by allowing them to work from home. This act of Google may be followed by other tech giants of the world as there is no light in the tunnel yet and the health experts and government do not know how long this virus spread continues.
Recently, Google CEO Sundar Pichai is heard to have said that the company has reopened 42 offices across the world. Also, he reportedly mentioned that the company os extending their global voluntary work from home until June 30 next year, for roles that don’t need to be in the office physically.
While this is the decision by Google for its employees, Twitter and Facebook already announced that they are allowing most of their employees to continue to work fro home indefinitely.
