India has emerged as the third nation to report 20 Lakh Covid-19 positive cases after USA and Brazil. In the last 24 hours, 62,498 cases were reported and this is for the first time, India has posted over 60K cases in a single day. Most alarmingly India posted over five Lakh new cases in the last nine days which is seriously a big concern.
The COVID-19 tally rises to 20,27,075 including 6,07,384 active cases, 13,78,106 cured or discharged. 886 deaths have been reported and the total death count is 41,585. 5,74,783 samples were tested yesterday and as per ICMR, 2,27,24,134 samples have been tested so far. India’s testing capacity is 22.1 for million.
Meanwhile, Telangana too has touched the 75K mark in Covid-19 cases. In a biggest spike till date, 2097 new cases have been reported yesterday and the total cases count is 75,257. 21,417 are active cases and the death figures have crossed 600 mark.
Telangana has the lowest testing numbers in the country with just 5,66,984 as of August 6th.
