Just a few days after reaching the 40K Covid-19 deaths mark, India has stormed into the 45K deaths mark in no time. With 871 people dying in the last 24 hours, India’s total death count reached 45,257.
India is now just short behind Great Britain and in another couple of days, India will occupy the fifth spot of the countries with most Covif-19 deaths. USA, Brazil, Mexico are the top three countries.
A small relieving factor is, India reported just 53,601 new positive cases in the last 24 hours. Though the number is high, it is comparatively low as the country has reported over 60K cases over the last few days.
With this the total cases count is at 22,68,676 including 6,39,929 active cases and 15,83,490 cured/discharged. India has 28.21 percent active cases and 69.80 percent are cured while the death rate is 1.99 percent.
