The impact of the global pandemic Covid-19 is not slowing down in India. Beating all previous records, the country has reported the biggest spike of 69,652 new positive cases in a single day. With this the tally in the country rises to 28,36,926.
Among the total cases, the active ones are 6,86,395 while 20,96,665 people have got cured of the virus. Also 977 people have died in the last 24 hours and the total death count went up to 53,991.
For the first time since the outbreak, India has tested over 9 Lakh people. ICMR claimed that 9,18,570 samples were tested yesterday while the total samples tested as of August 20th is 3,26,61252.
Meanwhile the total cases in Telangana are inching towards one Lakh. Freshly 1724 new positive cases were posted while the total cases count is 97,424. The death count is 724.
