Andrew Flintoff needs no introduction to those who regularly follow cricket. The former England allrounder is known as an aggressive captain in the field. Post his retirement, he endorsed different brands, turned a TV presenter and was also involved in acting gigs. Now, we hear that he met with an accident while filming an episode of the BBC show, Top Gear.
The entire cricket fraternity is shocked to hear the news of the accident that occurred on Monday when Flintoff was filming in extremely icy conditions at Dunsfold Park Aerodrome in Surrey. As soon as the accident took place, Flintoff was airlifted to hospital.
“It is a car crash and Flintoff was injured in the accident. The crew medics attended on him immediately,” said BBC, in their statement.
There are reports that Flintoff’s injuries are “not life-threatening”, but we have to wait for the official confirmation from the doctors attending on him.
Earlier in 2019, Flintoff survived a 125mph crash during the filming of another episode of Top Gear.
