The horrific death of 20-year-old Delhi woman left the country in shock. Anjali Singh was hit by a car and dragged for almost 12 km on the New Year’s day. Police ruled out sexual assault in the case after autopsy. Now, in a new development, there is another girl, a friend of Anjali Singh also got injured in the same incident.
According to the CCTV footage obtained by the police, Anjali Singh is seen arguing with her friend Nidhi outside a hotel in Rohini where they attended a New Year Eve party on Saturday evening. Just 15 minutes before Anjali died, they are seen fightting and abusing each other. The manager of the hotel asked them to leave and they left on their scooty.
In other videos, Anjali is seen sitting on the back while Nidhi is driving and they two swapped places after sometime. Around 2 am, a car with five men, all drunk hit Anjali and she was thrown off. Anjali’s leg was stuck in the car’s axle and she was dragged for more than an hour by the vehicle. Nidhi suffered minor injuries and she ran away from the spot. Nidhi reportedly said she was panicked.
The driver of the car reportedly said he felt ‘something was stuck’, for which the others said no. The five have told the police they fled the spot after the accident without realizing that Anjali was stuck to the car all along. The five arrested confessed to being drunk at the time of the crash.
Deepal Khanna was driving the car and Amit Khanna, Manoj Mittal, Krishan and Mithun were sitting in the car.
