Right from the lockdown times, medical experts have been saying August and September months are very critical for the spread of the Covid-19 and their predictions have turned true. In August month, India has reported 19.5 Lakh new cases and this is a record by any nation in the world.
Averagely India reported between 50K to 60K cases per day but last week for three days in a row, the country posted over 70K cases. Now that we have entered September, the cases could pile up even more say medical experts.
Union Health minister Harshavardhan commented that Covid-19 may come down by Diwali but he is optimistic about this too.
Meanwhile India has added 69,921 new positive cases and tally in the country stands at 36,91,167. The active cases count is 7,85,996 while the discharged count is 28,39,883. 819 people have died in the last 24 hours and this has made the death tally to touch 65K mark. Currently the total death count is 65,228.
10.16 Lakh samples were tested yesterday and the total samples tested in the country stands at 4.33 crore.
