Another Hit-and-drag Case Kills Two In Delhi

Even before one could forget the hit-and-drag case of Kanjhawala, another incident occurred in Delhi shocking the country. A car struck a two-wheeler and carried the rider on its bonnet for almost 350 metres, killing two people in the incident at Keshav Puram.

The incident occurred on Thursday night in which the pillion rider died instantly. One other rider was severely hurt in the collision. Latest reports suggest that the other rider also succumbed to injuries on Saturday morning.

Northwest Delhi DCP Usha Rangnani revealed that a PCR van observed a car hitting a scooter, causing the pillion rider to fall to the ground and have their head trapped between the windshield and the bonnet, on January 26 while patrolling between Prerna Chowk and Kanhaiya Nagar late at night.

After hitting the scooter, the car did not stop but dragged the rider and the vehicle for nearly 350 metres before being pursued by a PCR van. Two of the suspects were apprehended while the remaining escaped the scene. However, they were arrested later.

Rangnani said the accused seemed to be drunk and that an inquiry was on. The incident was recorded on CCTV, which is now appearing online.

On January 1, 20-year-old Anjali Singh was murdered in the early hours after a Baleno car struck her scooter and dragged it for more than 12 km from Sultanpur to Kanjhawala.
