Veteran singer Vani Jairam was found dead the other day at her residence in Chennai. She was 77. The police found a head injury on her body. They have a case of unnatural death under section 174 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC).
Vani Jairam was found dead in her bedroom yesterday morning. The body was found by Jairam’s housemaid Malarkodi. Immediately, she informed Vani Jairam’s sister.
A post-mortem has been done on Vani Jairam’s body and the doctors confirmed an injury of one and a half inches. The police stated that nothing can be concluded with this single identification. They said that they are waiting for the full report. This report will clear all doubts surrounding Vani Jairam’s death.
Vani Jairam’s body was sent back to her residence after the post-mortem. Her final rites will be held at 1 pm today.
In a career spanning over five decades, Vani Jairam sang thousands of songs in various languages like Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Gujarati, Odia, Bengali, Marathi and Urdu.
