It was a rough phase when Shahrukh’s son Aryan Khan was arrested in a drug bust on a cruise ship off Mumbai in October 2021. Aryan Khan was released and cleared off the case, but the CBI officer Sameer Wankhede, former zonal director of the Narcotics Control Bureau has been facing corruption and criminal misconduct allegations.
According to the allegations, SRK’s family was threatened that his son Aryan would be framed in a narcotics case unless he paid 25 crore rupees. The CBI also flagged Sameer Wankhede’s foreign trips and sale and purchase of expensive wristwatches.
The FIR also includes Vishwa Vijay Singh, Ashish Ranjan, KP Gosavi, and Sanvile D’Souza along with Wankhede. KP Gosavi is the witness in the drugs-on-cruise case whose selfie with Aryan Khan following his arrest went viral.
The FIR shows that the conspiracy was planned to extort a sum of 25 Crore rupees from the family and the amount was finally settled for 18 crore rupees. A token amount of 50 lakh rupees as bribe money was also taken by KP Gosavi and his aide Sanville D’Souza but a part it was later returned.
Aryan Khan spent 22 days in jail before the NCM cleared him of charges due to a lack of sufficient evidence.
